Shipping and Return Policy

Shipping

Because raised-relief maps cannot be rolled or folded, they ship in large flat boxes and we use the most economical way to get the map to you in a reasonable timeframe. Most often, we ship via UPS Ground, which requires a street address (not a PO Box).

We generally do not ship maps outside of the US.

Timing

Unframed maps typically ship within 3-4 business days, while framed ones take about 7 days. (All framed Summit maps are framed to order.)  If there's a snag like an item being temporarily out of stock, we'll email you about the delay.

All of our maps are manufactured, framed, and shipped from our facility in Maryland, so transit time via UPS Ground or FedEx Ground is normally 1-2 days for East Coast locations, 3-4 days for Colorado and the mountain west, and 5-7 days for the West Coast.

Damaged Maps

If your map arrives damaged or flawed, we’ll work with you to get a replacement map or a refund ASAP. You can help speed up that process by taking the following steps:

  1. Contact Us: Immediately email us at customerservice@summitmaps.com and describe the issue. Please include your order number if possible.
  2. Send Photos: Attach photos of both the damaged product and any visible damage to the box.
  3. Hold Onto Everything:  Please hold onto both the map and box until we confirm whether the carrier needs to inspect them.
  4. For Additional Help: Call us at 240-203-8476 if you have questions.

    Return Policy

    For returns unrelated to damage or flaws, Summit maps may be returned for up to 30 days from the date of delivery.   Please follow these steps:

    1. Obtain Authorization: Email or call us at 240-203-8476 for return authorization.
    2. Pack Carefully: Carefully repack the map in its original shipping box, write the return authorization number on the box, and return it (preferably via UPS Ground) to:

    1. Refund Process: Once the undamaged map reaches us, we'll credit your original payment method for the price of the product, excluding shipping. There may be a 10% re-stocking fee for framed maps because framing is a custom process; we do not keep framed maps in stock.
